Predavanje dr Pšemislava Strožeka /

U utorak 01.11.2016. godine dr Pšemislav Strožek, Institut za umetnost Poljske akademije nauka, predavač na Akademiji likovnih umetnosti u Varšavi i Kolegijum civitas u Varšavi, održaće predavanje na temu "Radnički sport i komunističke avangarde u Istočnoj Evropi". Predavanje će se održati u Biblioteci Instituta za književnost i umetnost u 12 časova.

Istorija radničkog sporta je i dalje prilično neproučena tema. Osnovane dvadesetih godina prošloga veka, Socijalistička radnička sportska internacionala (SASI) u Lucernu i Crvena sportska internacionala u Moskvi organizovale su sportske događaje (Radnička Olimpijada i Spartakijada) koji su trebalo da posluže kao alternativni odgovor na "buržuasku" Olimpijadu. Predavanje će pokazati kako su konstruktivisti iz Čehoslovačke i Rusije odgovorili na radnički sportski pokret i kako su uključeni u propagandu CSI-a.

Pšemislav Strožek je završio osnovne studije na Univerzitetu u Varšavi (Poljske studije); master studije na Pozorišnoj akademiji u Varšavi (studije teatra) i doktorirao na Institutu za umetnost Poljske akademije nauka u Varšavi. Predavač je na Akademiji likovnih umetnosti u Varšavi (Fakultet grafičkog dizajna), predavač na Kolegijum civitas u Varšavi (Studije kulture). 2012/2013 kao Fulbrajtov stipendista gostujući istraživač na Univerzitetu u Džordžiji (Modernističke studije). Član je Evropske mreže za izučavanje avanarde i modernizma i usmerava svoja istraživanja na avangardu i popularnu kulturu. Autor je nekoliko studija o avangardi, poljskoj moderni i savremenoj umetnosti.

On Tuesday, 01.11.2016. Dr. Przemyslaw Strozek, The Institute of Art of the Polish Academy of Sciences, a lecturer at The Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw and Collegium Civitas in Warsaw, will give a lecture on the topic "Workers sport and communist avant-garde in Eastern Europe". The lecture will be held at the Library of the Institute of Literature and Art at 12:00.


Workers Sport and Communist Avant-gardes in Eastern Europe



The history of workers sport is still rather an understudied subject. Founded in 1920s Socialist Workers’ Sport International in Lucerne and Red Sport International in Moscow organized sporting events (Worker Olympics and Spartakiads) that were meant to serve as an alternative proposition to „bourgeois” Olympics. The lecture will discuss how Constructivists from Czechoslovakia and Soviet Russia responded to worker sport movement and how they were involved in RSI propaganda.

Przemyslaw Strozek completed an MA at the University of Warsaw (Polish Studies); MA at Theatre Academy in Warsaw (Theatre Studies) and PHD at the Institute of Art of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw. He is a lecturer at Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw (Graphic Design Faculty), a lecturer at Collegium Civitas is Warsaw (Cultural Studies) and a 2012/2013 Fullbright Visiting Scholar at The University of Georgia (Modernist Studies). He is a member of the European Network for Avant-garde and Modernist Studies and focuses his research on avant-garde and popular culture. He has authored several studies on Avant-garde, Polish modern and contemporary art.
